Chromebook return times have been set. All Chromebooks will be returned to the Elementary School on the following dates and times: Monday, June 1 - 11:00-3:00 Tuesday, June 2 - 1:00-5:00 Wednesday, June 3 - 11:00-5:00 Please look for the sign with your building’s name (Elementary, K-6; Junior High, 7-8; High School, 9-11) and return your chromebook to that spot. Seniors will be returning their chromebooks at a different time. We ask for your cooperation in following the Social Distancing protocols that will be set up at the return site.

JH parents may come get their JH students possessions in front of the JH on Wednesday, April 29th from 11-1 or 5-7. Parents may also sign for a refund of money previously paid for the Cedar Point or Zoo field trips. Refunds not claimed this day will be placed on the student's lunch accounts for next school year. Tinora Archery is pleased to report that Hailey Schultz has been named Middle School Girls Archery State Champion! Haley's score from that tournament was the high score for Middle School Girls reported from around the state. The picture shows Hailey receiving her trophy and championship bow from Coach Spiller in the Tinora Elementary isolation area used for chromebook loans and repairs. CONGRATULATIONS HAILEY!

Kindergarten screening for the 2020-2021 students was scheduled for Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17. However due to the current health crisis, we are postponing Kindergarten Screening. The community will receive information about a new date when we have been assured that it is safe and feasible to hold this event. If parents registered the child for kindergarten at Tinora, there is no further registration needed. Registration for new kindergarten students continues online at tinora.org then clicking explore.

Dear Community, The safety of our students is our number one priority. As you are aware, our Governor is shutting down the K-12 schools for the next three weeks. The third quarter will end tomorrow, Friday, March 13th. The Northeastern Local School District will be closed starting at 3:30, Friday, March 13th. School will be back in session on April 6th. There will be no events, practices, or activities at the school during this time period. Only essential school personnel will be permitted on school property. Hicksville Archery Tournament scheduled for this Saturday, March 14, 2020 has been cancelled.
Tinora spring vacation will be March 23 - 27. Students attending FCCC will have bus transportation to and from FCCC, from Tinora ONLY, with the bus leaving the Tinora parking lot at 8:00 AM and arriving back at 3:20 PM. There will be no bus pick-up or drop-off at the students' homes.
High School Cheerleading Clinics and tryout dates for the 2020/2021 school year will be March 17th & 19th from 6 - 7:30pm and Tryouts are March 31st at 6pm.
Congratulations to Wesley Maxwell winner of the TES 2020 Geography Bee. Wesley will now take a test to see if he can qualify for National Geographic's National Geography Bee.
A lot of work is taking place to get our new building ready for next school year! Painting on the inside of the MS Gym has begun, all the beams signed by community and students are hung, drywall is beginning to be hung and windows are being installed, just to name a few. Things are progressing right on schedule.
The 7th grade students will be taking a very educational trip to Washington DC in March of 2021. TJHS 7th grade class is hosting a Gun and Purse Raffle on March 13, 2020 at the Jewell Legion to offset the cost of this great educational trip. All proceeds from this event will go toward their trip. At this event, you will enjoy an all you can eat Taco Bar and drinks. There have been 4 guns and 4 designer purses purchased for this event! We will also have a quarter auction for many great prized donated by community businesses! So bring a friend and come out and enjoy an outstanding evening with friends supporting a great cause! Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the TJHS office or from a TJHS 7th grade student.

The rain has made it harder on our construction crew, but they are getting a lot done. They took advantage of the sun this week and have been working hard! They are working on the footers for the HS wing, continuing work on the MS foundation, blocking the MS gym, and starting the underground plumbing.
