Our 2nd graders were spreading holiday cheer this week, singing their way through the school buildings!
“We usually do this every year,” said 2nd-grade teacher Kayla Johns. “We teach the students the songs the day or two before. The students really look forward to it.”
This year was extra meaningful—it was the first time they caroled at the middle school. “It was really fun seeing some of my former students. We don’t get to see them as much once they move up, so it was wonderful to reconnect,” Johns shared. “It’s heartwarming when they run up and give you a hug. They all remember caroling in 2nd grade, and it’s memorable for them too.”
The students performed six holiday songs, ending each round with We Wish You a Merry Christmas, all while wearing festive holiday hats to celebrate today’s Grinch or Santa spirit day.
